Tap dancing is a rhythmic and energetic American dance form in which the dancer also acts as a musician. Tap dancing shoes turn every step into music – rhythms are produced by tapping, knocking and sliding with the feet to the beat of jazz, swing and contemporary music. Tap dancing is perfect for anyone who enjoys rhythm, musicality and the joy of movement.

The classes teach the basics of tap dancing technique, such as weight transfer, accentuation and different rhythm styles. The step sequences and choreographies combine movement, rhythm and musicality. The classes develop coordination, body control and especially a sense of rhythm – and they also raise the heart rate!

Tap dancing classes offer a great way to both express yourself and stay fit in a good mood.

Class 25767 also includes an Irish dance section and is shared with younger students.

Equipment: Comfortable training clothes. Tap dancing shoes with irons (from dance supply stores). It is a good idea to ask the teacher for advice on purchasing equipment during the first lesson.
